A perfect destination to retreat or recharge, Mackay is located in the east-central portion of Idaho, surrounded by some of the state’s most spectacular scenery. Mackay sits at an elevation of 5,891 feet, and at the last census reported a population of 680.

Lowest Average Daily Temperature: 4.3 Degrees – recorded in January.
Highest Average Daily Temperature: 85.1 Degrees – recorded in July.

Average Annual Total Precipitation: 9.8 inches.
Average Annual Snowfall: 33.5 inches.


Park permits
are required for large outdoor gatherings and/or for events involving the consumption of alcohol. Call City Hall at 588-2274.

Burning permits may be purchased at Mackay City Hall for $1.00.

Curfew
Applies to children and young adults (attending high school and /or under the age of 18):
Sunday through Thursday curfew - 11:00 pm.
Friday and Saturday - 12:00 am.

Transportation
Mackay’s airport runway length: 4400 ft.

City Ordinances and Permits
Dog licenses are required for all resident owners. They may be purchased at Mackay City Hall for $3.00. Three dogs are allowed per city property.

Building permits may be obtained at Mackay City Hall. Price per permit is $5.00.
